The City of Los Angeles offers free capacity building trainings for non-profits. See details below.
City of Los Angeles Community Development Department
"Basic" Training
Community, faith-based/non-profit organizations, and individuals are invited and encouraged to participate in a FREE training series designed to learn how to start an organization or to enhance the effectiveness of an existing one. The program especially targets those working with low-income youth, families, and communities.
Thursdays, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Alliance Member News: Concerts at the Square!
Concerts at The Square: Thursdays, July 17th and 31st, and August 28 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. These free concerts invite you to take a break from your commute for a few hours of entertainment at Heritage Square. Doors open at 4:00, with performances starting at 4:30 p.m..
July 17 begins with Marie MacGillis and the Toddy Trio, followed by the Pasadena City College Swing Band.
July 31 begins with Groove Session, followed by the Susie Hansen Latin Band.
August 28 begins with the “Sometimes in Tune" band, followed by Orquesta Salsumba.
Free to the public. Special gift for museum members during concert series. This free event is made possible through the support of several local neighborhood councils and the LA County Arts Commission.

Next L.A. Heritage Alliance Meeting: August 23, 2008
The next meeting of the Los Angeles Heritage Alliance will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2008 in the morning. The meeting will be focusing on membership: retention, growth, attraction, etc.
The exact location and time will be announced via email. If you or your organization would like to to host the quarterly meeting (provide a location and some coffee/juice/refreshments), please contact us.
